Quilt Easy Charity With 15 Inch Center
Quilters are a generous and prolific group. We love to create even if we don't have a place for our creations. I know there is a large community of quilters making tops that need a home.
My purpose for this page is to connect top makers to top finishers for charity purposes.
*******************************
*** I am listing organizations that are: ***
*******************************
- Willing to take Quilt tops
- Willing to quilt and bind the tops
- And that organization then uses the finished quilt for their charity purposes
List additional groups in the comments with the following information:
- Organization name
- State or Country it is located in
- A link to the Quilt Donation page at their website or Facebook page so we know they are a legitimate organization
First I'd like to thank Joyce for her question of where can she send tops for charity quilts. This gave me the focus for this project to contect top makers to charity groups.
Thank you to all the makers supporting others with our love wrapped in quilts 💕
*******************************
*** Basic Guidelines ***
*******************************
- Contact organization before sending
- Trim your loose threads and check all your seams are sewn
- Send backing, batting & binding fabric whenever possible.. charity groups are not made of money, they need the supplies to put them together. (heck they might take your extra fabric, ask them)
- Share a photo of your quilt at the end , then send your top off with love 💕
- You can also join my community and share photos there at https://www.facebook.com/groups/QuiltWithPatSloan
PLEASE READ -
- Most of these groups also take finished quilts and supplies, ask them
- It is up to you to contact the organization before sending your top. Once you send it, that top now belongs to that organization to use as they see fit.

- Cassaundra shared - We take quilt tops and finished quilts! We have an art therapy program where instead of only giving quilts to Veterans- we actually teach them the many steps of quilting and then they either give the quilt to another Veteran, a person we have vetted, or we use for raffle, whcih keeps the programs going. It's the "teach to fish, rather than give a fish, model :)
Lutheran World Relief

- Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/lwrquilters
- Karla said-rated as a top 10 charitable group. Nationally, we make about 400,000 quilts per year and that are sent World Wide, including the U.S., where they are needed. My group has made 1000 quilts in 25 years. We depend on donations and grants to keep the costs minimal. Quilt tops are 60 by 80 inches and any design, even whole cloth is fine. Join the group's Facebook page. Then, you can ask for a Lutheran Church in a particular area that can take quilt tops. My group gets so many donations of fabric, that I had to go on the Facebook page to find another nearby church to share our donated fabric!

New York - Long Island Quilts for Kids

- Carrie said - We create quilts and multiple other items for donation. We are a very productive chapter of the national organization Quilts for Kids. In addition to quilts we have made almost 50,000 masks and 5000 scrub caps that have gone to healthcare facilities across the northeast United States and tribal lands in the west that are n need. We also participate in the Dress A Girl program sending yearly over 1000 dresses to developing countries around the world such as Haiti, Ghana, Columbia, Malawi. Burkina Faso and others. Additionally we donate to the Shoe Box program by providing dresses and shorts for their holiday shoe boxes that are distributed through Samaritan's Purse. These are a few of the many projects we are working on. As you can see from the volume we produce and the communities we distribute to our Quilting Angels are very busy!
We have been in existence for almost ten years and have a wonderful network of donor sites set up for distribution. We donate to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Stony Brook Childrens Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, St. Mary's Specialty Children's Hospital, Winthrop Kids Cancer Center and many other healthcare facilities.

Arizona - Sewing for Babies
- https://www.facebook.com/groups/SewingForBabiesAZ/
- Sandra said - Sewing for Babies AZ We are a pretty small organization, but we provide quilts, specialty clothing some crocheted items to area NICUs and also the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. The quilts used for the isoletes for the preemies need to be around the range of 36 by 42. We actually use a lot of six inch blocks and make them six blocks across and seven rows long. The quilt tops for the Indian babies can be any size. They love brightly colored quilts. The hospitals we deliver to are Phoenix Children's, Banner University, Maricopa Medical, Banner Estrella, maybe others. I deliver to St Joseph's NICU, and the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. Our volunteers just do the part they like--some sew quilt tops, some layer the quilts. We actually bind the quilts, then have a lot of them tied, very few are actually long arm quilted, but some are machine quilted.
